KIRA HOWE: Back To School
Hi everyone,
I can’t believe summer break is almost over and school starts in two weeks but who is counting right? My summer was so much fun. How was your summer? When do you start school?
I went to the beach, bbq, birthday parties, hung at by the pool and we did our social year end party at my studio. I also started dancing again after my ankle injury and it was great. We have started our new choreography too so I’m really excited for the upcoming season.
So, let’s talk about going back to school, even though we don’t want to. I’m a Senior that is so crazy!!! It hit me when I took my Senior pictures and my mom was like ‘this can’t be happening.’ So, I’m ready to take on my last year and will be starting our varsity dance team new choreography at Moorpark High School!
Getting back into my schedule will be hard, but I know I can do it. I will have school, dance, and volunteering at my church. I’ve been doing this for almost 10 years and as difficult as it can be to get into a routine somehow I’m able to get back into it. So, my best advice is to take a deep breath and get yourself organized now. Also, remember that opportunities wasted are opportunities missed. This is what my mom tells my sister and I all the time.
Just remember that no matter what you do don’t let your dreams scare you. There may be moments when they overwhelm us so try and keep a positive attitude. The next time someone tells you that “there’s no way”, or “that’s completely absurd”, keep these words in mind and you’ll be able to keep your head up. Confidence is beautiful.
So there you have it. Now, put yourself out there and chase your dreams!
Keep SHINING and have a great school year, dance and sport season!!
Xoxo

Being a competitive dancer requires a lot of training and time and being a student is a handful of work too. Balancing both is not easy.
It’s that time of the year! It’s time to get ready for countless holiday shows and Nutcrackers!
Throughout my thirteen years of dance training this far, I have had some pretty extraordinary teachers.
It’s Kira and we are back! How is everyone? Ready for the new competition season? I know I am.
To kick off the season, my studio does either a roller-skating party or bowling party. The attire is always “dress up,” which makes it extra fun.
As a dancer, I've always been asked the question, ‘What’s your favorite dance genre?’ and to be honest, I never really know. It seems to change every time someone asks me…
But that is why you should meet as many people as possible when going to a dance event. And who knows, you might just meet one of your best friends for life.
Do you ever feel overwhelmed and wonder how you are going to get things done?
I can name so many amazing friendships I’ve made through my journey, and I’m only 12.
