It’s that time of the year! It’s time to get ready for countless holiday shows and Nutcrackers!
Don't fret because Christmas, hot chocolate, and cold weather are finally here! My studio gets pretty intense when it comes to the holidays, don’t worry, it’s nothing bad!
To start us off, my studio does countless holiday shows and productions.
Okay, by countless, maybe I mean one with tons of dances. At my studio, we have the recital classes perform in one show and ballet performances in its own ‘show’. What I mean by that is, the recital classes, like hip-hop, jazz, and lyrical get their own theme.
So, if the show’s overall theme was Winter Wonderland, maybe the lyrical class would do something about sitting by the fire and warming up, or hip-hop would be about them having fun in the show. For ballet, however, it’s totally separate.
For ballet, the theme may be Nutcracker! As it is most of the time. But what makes it cool, cooler than it already is, is that each class gets its own scene. This year, my pointe class is doing Marzipan!
This is only the beginning of the festivities at the studio. Not only do we have arts and crafts, baked goods, and even a BOUNCE HOUSE. You heard me correctly, ladies and gentlemen, a bounce house. We also have a “lock-in” exclusively for the kids at the studio! It’s not as creepy sounding as you think. We have the whole studio to ourselves, with parental supervision, plus we have games, pizza and dance contests! It’s such a blast.
